Tables of 8 or More

We are able to cater for gatherings of any size at The Plume from office parties of 8 up to weddings of 150 people. Our menus change every month and we offer 3 alternative party menus which are available for tables of 6 or more and compulsory for tables of 8 or more. These menus offer more dishes, more variety, more indulgence and better value for money as you increase in price and better value compared to our full menu.

For tables of 8 or more, please follow the instructions below:

  • At least 3 days before, choose one of the three party menus below – Your party will receive all the dishes listed on that one menu to share amongst them. The ‘Piccolo’ menu is not available on Friday and Saturday evenings.

  • Please also let us know of any dietary requirements a few days before your arrival - We will happily tweak some of the dishes or add dishes so that everyone has a good variety of dishes on the day

  • Desserts are not included in these menus – Desserts can be ordered on the night. Desserts are discounted on the ‘Primo’ and ‘Medio’ menus. Further discounts can be arranged if your desserts are pre-ordered.

  • Between Tuesday to Thursday, on quieter services, smaller parties (10 or less) may be able to order off our full menu - For those of you who feel that these menus are not appropriate for your party for any reason, it may be possible to order off our full menu. Our menus are designed to share amongst your table so we do insist on at least multiples of 2 of any dishes you order and a maximum variety of 10 different dishes.

  • For tables of 15 or more on Friday and Saturday evenings:

    • Please choose an arrival drink – This doesn’t have to be much and doesn’t have to be unanimous but it helps us to get a drink in everyones hand as quickly and professionally as possible. For example, if the majority would enjoy a glass of prosecco, we could have a couple of bottles of prosecco waiting for your arrival and some may choose to have a beer or soft drink instead.

    • We cannot split bills into individual items – We are happy to take multiple credit card payments but please simply tell us how much each person is paying. It is incredibly difficult to itemise everyone’s bill on such busy nights.

  • Other details:

    • A discretionary 10% service charge is added to all bills - this is entirely split between the team who looked after you on the day, on top of their wages. If you feel that the service you have received is not up to the level expected, please don't hesitate to let us know and ask for some or all of the service charge to be removed.

    • Your booking time is your arrival time – we will start serving the food around 15 minutes later and the entire menu will take around an hour to serve.

    • If you would like to come for drinks beforehand - please let us know however, unfortunately,  this may not always be possible.

Other Catering Options

Alternatively, if you don't want a sit down gathering, our Italian Small Plates can be offeredin the form of canapes and bowl food that can be consumed while standing and mingling. A sample canape and bowl food menu can be found by clicking HERE.  These stand-up gatherings are available Tuesday to Friday lunchtime, where appropriate, but at weekends only the 'Quattro' and 'Cinque' options are available in suitable situations.

We have a number of different spaces that can cater for parties of different sizes:

  • The Piano Room – private room that has a view of the Abbey and can ideally seat 12 (or 14 at a squeeze).

  • The Old Skittle Alley – can seat up to 40 people.

  • The Courtyard – a hamstone walled private courtyard that you could mistake for Tuscany. Can seat up to 50 people

  • The Courtyard Room – semi-private al-fresco covered space off the courtyard. Can seat up 16 people

  • The Whole of The Plume – On occasions we do close for private functions on any day of the week. The capacity for a sit down meal would be around 80 people or 150 people for a stand-up gathering.

Although we are generally open Tuesday to Saturdays, we may open on Sundays and Mondays for suitable private functions.

We had our wedding lunch at the Plume. Nick and the whole team were brilliant throughout. They shared very useful advice at how best to use their venue and which of their dishes would work best as finger food. The whole process was seemless with great communication throughout. Importantly they really delivered on the day. The whole team were well prepped and had a smile on their faces. The tapas style food worked brilliantly and we've had loads of positive feedback from our guests. We also booked the beautiful rooms for guests from overseas which went down really well. Would highly recommend for an event the whole experience was high quality and we feel like we have had excellent value. Thank you all so much, we look forward to visiting again and enjoying it as the brilliant restaurant it is!
