The Plume has four ensuite B&B rooms (each with one free parking space) perfect for a romantic weekend away, a business trip or a family home from home while you discover what Dorset has to offer. Each of our rooms have their own distinctive character ranging from a super-king double with the best view of the Abbey in Sherborne to a ‘studio’ style room off our glorious courtyard - please read about the details of our individual rooms lower down this page. They are all ensuite, well decorated, with double sofa bed, wi-fi, tea & coffee, large TV and each have their own individual character. However, the big bonus is there is mouth-watering Italian food, great beer, velvety Italian wine and lively cocktails waiting downstairs (or brought up to your room!). They are priced from £90.00 per night up to £150.00 per night including cooked breakfast and small buffet.
The Plume provides a convenient base to discover Sherborne and the surrounding area. The Abbey, castles, world famous schools and Cheap Street's independent shops are all on the doorstep of the pub. It is also a great base to discover some of the best that the South-West has to offer with an abundance of attractions within an hour's drive - The Jurassic Coast, Stourhead, Cerne Abbas Giant, Longleat Safari Park, Monkey World, Durdle Door, Montacute House and much much more. Please see the 'See & Do' section below.
Simply Wow! Perfect location, directly opposite the Abbey and literally a few minutes walk into town. Our room overlooking the Abbey, (Cottage Room No.1 I believe) was absolutely superb, with a huge bathroom, sofa seating and a huge, comfortable bed. There was quality water and tea / coffee facilities in the room and equally good toiletries. The bar / restaurant is fantastic, with outside seating, a wonderful snug and ample restaurant seating. You must try the Italian small-dish ,(tapas style) food in the restaurant as it is top-notch. I really do believe the full-English breakfast we had was one of the best I've experienced in terms of quality ingredients, cooked beautifully. To top all of this off, the staff are some of the most friendly, helpful and efficient you could possibly hope to meet. I really wish we had the opportunity to have stayed more than the one night available to us on our tour of the area, but wouldn't hesitate in the slightest in re-visiting The Plume the next time we're in Sherborne. "The view from the window was spectacular. A full on view of the Abbey. We had seen earlier comments about the chimes going through the night. We were aware of them but the thick curtains helped muffle the sound and we had a good night's sleep in a very comfortable bed." Expedia - Sep 18
