The Plume has four ensuite B&B rooms (each with one free parking space) perfect for a romantic weekend away, a business trip or a family home from home while you discover what Dorset has to offer. Each of our rooms have their own distinctive character ranging from a super-king double with the best view of the Abbey in Sherborne to a ‘studio’ style room off our glorious courtyard - please read about the details of our individual rooms lower down this page. They are all ensuite, well decorated, with double sofa bed, wi-fi, tea & coffee, large TV and each have their own individual character. However, the big bonus is there is mouth-watering Italian food, great beer, velvety Italian wine and lively cocktails waiting downstairs (or brought up to your room!). They are priced from £90.00 per night up to £150.00 per night including cooked breakfast and small buffet.
The Plume provides a convenient base to discover Sherborne and the surrounding area. The Abbey, castles, world famous schools and Cheap Street's independent shops are all on the doorstep of the pub. It is also a great base to discover some of the best that the South-West has to offer with an abundance of attractions within an hour's drive - The Jurassic Coast, Stourhead, Cerne Abbas Giant, Longleat Safari Park, Monkey World, Durdle Door, Montacute House and much much more. Please see the 'See & Do' section below.
Great food, great room, great atmosphere, great service. Can't fault it and will be back. The best Italian food we've had in the UK. Google - November 22

It has a large ensuite bathroom with a shower over the bath, large TV, fridge, tea/coffee facilities, Cowshed toiletries and much more (click here for a list of facilities). A perfect choice for a romantic weekend away from the big city.
" Wow! What an amazing experience. Staff beyond friendly. Our room is top notch...if you like a big bath you are in for a treat. Couldn't get a better view of the Abbey, literally across the road. Whole town is beautiful. Food delicious and everything done with a smile. Apparently some people moan about the Abbey bells (every 15mins).....well stay somewhere else! " Google - February '23
Abbey Cottage 2 is a deluxe and large room with a view over the rooftops towards the station and the Terrace playing fields. It has a super-king double bed, which can also be converted to twin beds and an extremely comfy and spacious seating area (the sofa is a double sofa bed if more than 2 people are staying). It has a large ensuite bathroom with a shower over the bath, large TV, fridge, tea/coffee facilities, Cowshed toiletries and much more (click here for a list of facilities). A versatile room, ideal for a business trip or a visit to Sherborne with a friend.
Courtyard Suite is a spacious suite that is ideal for a family or those staying for a little longer and is accessed from our Italian inspired courtyard . It has a king size double bed in the bedroom (in the living room there is a double sofa bed and a Z bed available if you have 5 people staying). The living room has a large seating area with a large TV, fridge, tea/coffee facilities and space for two people to dine in the room. It has a large ensuite bathroom with a shower over the bath, Cowshed toiletries, a dressing table (or desk) and much more (click here for a list of facilities). This generous suite is a perfect home from home for a family to explore Dorset or for a week away on business.
Hayloft is a quirky, versatile and large 'studio' style room which is full of charater. It has it's own entrance and a view into our idyllic hamstone walled courtyard that gives the impression that you might have whisked yourself away to Italy not down the road to Sherborne. It has a king size double bed and a large seating area (the sofa is a double sofa bed if more than 2 people are staying) with a large TV, fridge, tea/coffee facilities and space to dine in the room if required. The down side to the room is that the small ensuite wetroom is down a flight of stairs within the room and hence why it is significantly cheaper than our other rooms. It has Cowshed toiletries, a dressing table (or desk) and much more (click here for a list of facilities). This quirky room is a perfect base for a family weekend away.
"Stayed in the hayloft room; spacious, clean and very comfortable. Wet room downstairs a little cramped, but overall very good. Meals excellent and staff couldn't have been more helpful. Car parking arrangements excellent." Expedia - Feb 19
